FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What about weather?
We do practice when its COLD; however, if its TOO cold or the weather is bad, an email will be sent to the 4th and 5th grade teams as well as to Mrs. Carrithers and all parents in this email list by 1PM of the day in question. PLEASE HAVE YOUR BOYS DRESS APPROPRIATELY! While its cold, layers are the BEST!
Do I need equipment?
New players will be provided with loaner equipment (except sticks!) for the practices prior to the first games. After committing to the sport, they are asked to purchase the following: helmet, shoulder pads, elbow/arm pads, gloves, athletic supporter, mouthpiece, cleats (football/soccer/lacrosse).
Where do I purchase equipment?
Locally, Sports Connection on Versailles Road near the Angliana intersection and Dicks Sporting Goods at Fayette Mall stock equipment.
Should I be concerned about contact?
The level of contact that takes place in lacrosse is minimal--MUCH less than football and hockey. Pads provide for incidental contact that occurs during "ground balls." Membership in US LACROSSE, the national affiliate is REQUIRED of all players for insurance http://www.uslacrosse.org/membership/.
How do I officially register for the team? What paperwork is required?
(1) Physical Form - Every player MUST have an official KHSAA Physical Form on file with the Athletics Office (Tom Parlanti, Athletic Director).
(2) KLA Player Registration & Waiver Form - Every player MUST have an official Player Registration Form on file with the KLA Liaison (Trey Adams, Regional Liaison).
Where can I find a complete game schedule for the "fridge"?
A comprehensive game schedule of all youth and middle school games is located at the following web address: http://tlsweb.150m.com/lacrosse/2010/2-22-10-TLSColts-Spring2010.pdf
