Summer Camp Programs

As many of you may know, The Lexington School has BIG plans for the future of our campus with the fall 2019 completion of the ONE School Project. This summer, Camp Curiosity will be under construction as well. As always, we want to assure the highest quality and safest camp experience for all, so summer 2019, Camp Curiosity will take a brief pause and focus on constructing a GRAND summer 2020 adventure!

We’ll miss our campers and counselors, but we are enthusiastically approaching this time to focus on building the best summer program in the bluegrass. Here are a few new features we’ll get to play with next summer:

• An academic center that will host an enhanced library and junior library with a media resource center, reading nooks, and project work areas.
• Improved indoor spaces including more inventive classrooms and maker spaces.
• Revitalized outdoor and athletic areas: renovated playgrounds and an outdoor clubhouse will make playing outside even better.
• Fully-renovated kitchen and dining areas will host all those aspiring top chefs, chopped fanatics and cupcake warriors.

Don’t stray TOO far this summer!  We’ll be back in 2020, excited for the opportunities this ONE School project offers Camp Curiosity. We can’t wait to share all the good things with all of our counselors and campers next summer! Have questions, please contact us anytime.

Camp Curiosity

At Camp Curiosity, we embrace The Lexington School's mission and philosophy and provide an atmosphere that nurtures each child's social, physical, and mental growth. Best of all, we have fun inside and outside the four walls of the classroom. With a beautiful, 40-acre campus that includes a creek, woods, and athletic fields, we are ready to have a great summer indoors and out! Camp Curiosity offers top-quality programming for children 3 years old through 8th grade. We offer personalized, independent schedules with a wide variety of activities such as athletic, arts, science and so much more!

Junior Counselor Leadership Program

The Camp Curiosity environment provides a unique opportunity for youth to gain real-life leadership experience by assisting camp instructors. The Junior Counselor Leadership program (JCLP) is a counselor-in-training program for middle schoolers ages 11-13 years. The training involves many facets of Camp Curiosity and provides leadership and charter strength skills. Young leaders enjoy the summer fun of Camp Curiosity while actively taking on rewarding challenges and responsibilities that lead to growth. Participants will connect with campers, learn how to be a role model, friend, and so much more.
The mission of The Lexington School is to provide an education of the highest quality to students in preschool through middle school. In a structured, nurturing environment, The Lexington School seeks to instill integrity, a life-long enthusiasm for learning, and a strong work ethic.
