Dear Friends and Families,
This summer, we assembled workgroups to thoughtfully design a Healthy at TLS
plan. This team of teachers, administrators, and staff approached the task with creativity and a strong desire to provide a child-friendly environment that also keeps every child and adult on campus as safe and healthy as possible.
COVID-19 has helped us rethink everything this year. We have changed the layouts of classrooms, the sizes and names of classes to cohorts, crews, and families. We’ve adjusted our schoolwide calendar and our daily schedules. It’s a lot of change that has come from thoughtful discussions and planning.
One thing we know for certain is that there will be more change along the way, so we have adjusted our mindsets too. We are open and flexible to whatever we need to do to keep our teachers and students safe and learning, and we are excited about the growth opportunities that are here for us now and in our near and distant futures. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as together we forge a new path and a positive year of growth for everyone.
This COVID-19 Updates and Protocols website communicates our plan to date. Some of the more detailed information is accessible for parents through the TLS login
, so be sure to click the orange button for more information about your specific child’s academic program. This COVID-19 Updates and Protocols website is fluid. As state and federal guidelines change, so will The Lexington School. We will keep this site current as a consistent resource for you.
The Lexington School benefits from a large campus and small class sizes. This has helped us to follow the state and federal guidelines for reopening schools. Even with the significant changes we have made to the campus and programs, we understand that some families remain nervous about COVID exposure.
The Lexington School is offering a TLS Hybrid Program for families who opt for off-campus learning. We will offer this option all year long.
TLS faculty and staff have been working all summer to be able to reopen campus and welcome your children back. I am grateful for every member of this community. We are so fortunate to have such a professional group of educators at this school.
Lastly, I’d like to thank all of you for your patience and understanding this summer as we plan, and for your flexibility during this 2020-2021 school year as we work to keep our students and teachers healthy, safe, and happily engaged in learning.
Proud to be a TLSer,
